Belt Splicer /All Round Operator

About the role

MLG Oz are currently seeking an experienced Belt Splicer /All-round Operator to join our crushing and screening team, reporting to the Site Manager, this position is:

  • FIFO ex Perth
  • 2:1 Roster; and
  • Permanent/Ongoing.
  • A mix between belt splicing and general crushing plant operations

Benefits include:

Key Duties of the role include:

  • Knife Work
  • Installation of conveyor belts
  • Conveyor belt repairs
  • Conveyor system maintenance
  • Hot and cold fabric Splicing
  • Super screw belt joins
  • Identify and inspect belts for damage or faults and rectify where required
  • Use of belt clamps
  • Cut plies, skiving steps, using a buffer, and setting up the press for splicing

To be successful in your application, you will need the following:

  • Minimum of 12 months previous site experience as a Belt Splicer completing the above duties
  • All applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
  • Conveyor maintenance knowledge
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Follow instruction verbally and written
  • Commitment to HSE on site
  • Work efficiently and produce quality results
  • Current Working at Heights 
  • HRWL EWP
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Experience work on and around Mobile and Fixed Crushing Plants

The experience with following equipment will be highly regarded:

  • Osborn /Astec and Terex Finlay Mobile crushing equipment
  • Caterpillar Mobile Plant – FEL, Skid steer and excavators
