Shift Panel Coordinator (Workshop Supervisor)

The Role

As the Shift Panel Coordinator reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager your main duties will be:

  • Planning and scheduling of maintenance personal to meet operational requirements
  • Effective management and direction of all maintenance personal to ensure that whilst rostered on all personal are utilised in an efficient and productive manner, particularly during unplanned breakdowns.
  • Coordination of workshop and yard area housekeeping to maintain the expectations of MLG.
  • All work scopes are reviewed, and machines checked to ensure all tasks have been completed before units is returned to service
  • Ensuring all commenced tasks are completed to the highest standard practically possible and returned to service in a "Fit for Purpose" condition.
  • Encouraging and fostering good site culture. This includes creating an environment that fosters unity amongst all staff along with an equal respect for all personnel. 
  • Provide strong, effective leadership to all maintenance personnel to ensure that whilst rostered on all staff are utilised in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Address performance issues with subordinates when performance issues arise.
  • Ensure all tasks are always conducted in a safe and efficient manner, making sure all personnel comply with statutory regulations, policies, procedures and all safety requirements of MLG Oz.
  • Ensure all data and records are collected and recorded accurately and forwarded to administration in a timely manner.  For example, but not limited to time sheets, time recording and work order history notes.
  • Assist maintenance personal in planning their task with sourcing the correct tooling and parts
  • Work closely with the parts warehouse to ensure non stocked items are sourced and delivered in a timely manner. This includes forward planning of work orders, so items are sourced before the task begins.
  • Ensuring effective and informative handovers to the cross-shift Shift Panel Coordinator to minimise downtime between shifts.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Portray strong leadership skills by using positive communication, showing integrity and empathy
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a supervisory position with a demonstrated commitment to safety performance
  • Working knowledge of mobile plant and on highway heavy transport vehicles  
  • Drive and commitment with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Experience in the day to day planning and scheduling of resources within a maintenance workshop
  • Commercial acumen and computer literacy
