About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Worker for a casual role over our peak summer period to work at the beautiful Reflections Killalea Reserve.

This role is critical in helping us create amazing holiday memories for our guests and day visitors. By joining the team at Killalea as a peak casual, you will be given the opportunity to be part of a fun, close knit team during our busiest time of year.

The Grounds Worker will work a rotational roster across a 7-day per week operation, including weekend and public holiday work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the presentation of the park and implementing a high standard of friendly and welcoming customer service. The areas of responsibility for this role includes:

  • Undertake general grounds maintenance and minor repairs, including water supply, buildings and other facilities;
  • Upkeep of guest amenities and conducting routine inspections;
  • Undertake cleaning of guest amenities and other public spaces, including COVID cleans;
  • Operate equipment and use tools, such as ride on mower, whipper snipper, power tools and other general lawn and gardening tools; 
  • Experience operating plant equipment is desirable but not essential to this role;
  • Maintenance of gardens and trees to ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff;
  • Carry out security checks and patrols of the park, including on-call shifts on weekends; 
  • Assist and direct visitors within the park;
  • Follow Work Health and Safety procedures, identifying hazards and assessing and controlling safety risks.

Role Requirements

As this is a peak summer role, the successful candidates will be required to have full availability for the months of December and January (including weekends and public holidays).

The successful applicants will be subject to the following:

  • National Criminal History Check or will have to provide evidence of recent clearance; and
  • Pre-Employment Medical Assessment including Functional Capacity or will have to provide evidence of recent successful assessments.

Applicants are also required to have the following:

  • Right to work in Australia and be able to provide evidence of this;
