Facilities Officer

Facilities Officer

The Facilities Officer is responsible to manage all maintenance for all YMCA Canberra facilities, leased and owned.

 

About the role:

  • Establish annual preventative maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance for all assets
  • Organise contracts with providers to deliver maintenance work
  • Respond to all urgent and unforeseen maintenance requests through providers or with own trade skills in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain a register of contractors that can undertake the range of work that is required for the portfolio
  • Establish response times and performance standards and ensure compliance standards are met
  • Coordinate maintenance activities including booking, organising access and finalising tasks on sites

 

About you:

  • Experience in a Facilities Officer role or other relevant position
  • Facilities Industry qualification and/or Trade Certificate
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously and to proactively resolve anticipated or unexpected issues
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Conversant with OHS guidelines and experienced in the maintenance of safe workplaces
  • Ability to communicate to different stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience in Contract management, procurement including obtaining quotes and conducting tenders
  • Experience in Facility Management software or systems (preferred)
