If you are keen to gain your Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) qualification, while you undertake paid work [and training] with an industry leading Aged Care Provider, then read on!

LOCATIONS:

Busselton, WA and surrounding suburbs.

WHAT WORK WILL I BE DOING?

As a Trainee Support Worker, you will provide personal, physical and emotional support to individuals who require assistance with aspects of their daily living. This includes:

  • Assisting clients with daily tasks such as showering, shaving, dressing, eating;
  • Supporting their mobility through the use of hoists, wheelchairs and other equipment.
  • Supporting the social needs of clients, helping them to engage with recreational and leisure activities.

HOW DOES A TRAINEESHIP WORK?

You will be engaged on a part-time employment contract by Health Training Australia, and will be placed with a Host Organisation in the Aged Care Sector.

You will be a paid member of the Host Organisation's care team and will learn valuable skills on the job in your capacity as a Trainee Support Worker. You will be paid for all shifts that you work.

You will also attend regular classes (in person and online) where you will work your way through the CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual Support curriculum. Your theoretical learning will support your practical skills, and you will be paid for class attendance!

You will be supported every step of the way - by your qualified trainers, your Host Organisation's experienced staff and HTA's friendly trainee support team.

On successful completion you will be awarded your nationally recognised qualification and are ready for a career as a Support Worker in your chosen field! HTA trainees are highly sought after and have excellent employment prospects post-completion.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Applicants must:

  • Have full rights to work, study and complete a traineeship in Australia;
  • hold a valid WA driver's license and a reliable car;
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts (on a part-time basis). Preferred availability Monday to Sunday 6:30am to 10:00pm (minimum Monday to Friday 6:30am to 4:00pm);
  • Have an influenza vaccination prior to commencing work experience [as per government requirements].
  • be over the age of 18
  • be able to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • have English Proficiency - effective communication and comprehension skills

If you already hold a Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community Care, or hold a higher level Health Qualification, you are unfortunately ineligible for this position.
