The Business

89% of our employees would recommend Xenith as being “A great place to work” according to a recent Employee Life survey. Xenith is renowned for fostering greatness where individuals are valued as people, not just for high standards of technical excellence in their work tasks.

Xenith is an employee owned, Australian based firm working within the mining, infrastructure, energy and environment markets. Operating since 2004, with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and the Hunter Valley, we work across the globe in a range of commodities and continue to develop lasting relationships with our clients to generate successful outcomes in a wide range of project and consulting services, from concept studies through to detailed execution.

Xenith values diversity and is committed to a supportive and flexible working environment. We value work life balance and provide flexible hours along with outstanding long-term career development opportunities through hands-on mentoring, training and the variety of work.

The Opportunities

We are seeking permanent full-time Mining Engineers to be based in our three offices and to undertake stints on client sites as projects require. As a Mining Engineer (Graduate, Junior, Senior, Principal or Lead) you will be a technical subject matter expert, either working within teams or being responsible for managing packages of work and developing technically excellent solutions within your area of expertise.

Extensive training opportunities will be provided to ensure you can advance along a clear career path and develop in a challenging yet supportive environment.  Your career with Xenith will allow you to successfully build your network in the mining industry and develop into a widely respected expert predominantly in coal, precious and base metals and industrial minerals.

Role Requirements

  • The right to live and work in Australia eg. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Commensurate experience to the various roles, with demonstrated career progression and development
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or Civil Engineering) is essential
  • Exposure to mining automation will be highly regarded
  • Strong understanding and capability in mining software applications (eg. Deswik, Spry and others as required)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical information succinctly
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Alignment with our core values of People, Technical Excellence and Client Value
  • Eligible for membership in the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM)

To thrive within Xenith, you will be passionate about your work, able to engage with clients and peers and be a highly motivated individual who is proactive with a "can do" attitude.

What it Means for You

You will report to one of our highly experienced Managers who will work with you to understand your personal strengths, and to focus on them within your KPI’s. The dynamic nature of consulting delivers significantly more personal development and exposure than most operating positions can provide.

These roles will involve working across a wide spectrum of projects with our clients. Projects will include Due Diligence studies, Life of Mine planning, Progressive Rehabilitation planning, Financial modelling and Budgeting, Equipment Selection studies, Short-term Planning assistance and JORC Reserve estimation. Ongoing development of your skill set is inherent in the role.

You will have the opportunity to further expand your knowledge base by working alongside other team members in our Exploration, Resource Geology, Business Analysis, Civil Engineering and Surveying disciplines.

Most importantly, Xenith emphasises the importance of family and the required flexibility in the workplace. Our focus is on the outcome achieved and quality of work, not the hours worked, or time spent in the office.
