Marketing & Communications Officer

The Business and the opportunity

Ramsay Health Care (RHC) is Australia’s largest and most respected private hospital operator with 73 facilities in Australia and a presence in eleven countries worldwide. This role is primarily based at Hollywood Private Hospital, however may be required to travel to the other four RHC hospital sites in WA on an as-needs basis. The role will be responsible for supporting regional marketing activity and driving growth through the development of strategic communications. The position will provide the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to work for an international brand at a local level, with a dynamic team. Reporting to the Regional Marketing Specialist, this role will primarily be responsible for:

  • Supporting the communication requirements of marketing and branding activities
  • Developing relationships with media agencies, and coordinating all proactive and reactive media responses for the private hospitals, including some after hours and weekend on-call work
  • Managing website content
  • Developing strategic social media posts
  • Maintaining oversight of staff newsletters, and contribute content as required
  • Leveraging external partnerships and sponsorships and maximise public relations opportunities
  • Developing communications, briefing notes, orders of proceedings, media releases as required
  • Assisting the State Communications Managers and Regional Marketing Specialist with other duties as required

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

Essential:

  • A strong alignment to “The Ramsay Way” – our company philosophy of people caring for people
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in communications or public relations
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and visual communication skills
  • Experience designing and implementing public relations, internal communications and media communication activities in large, complex organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, develop and edit a broad range of publications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with tight deadlines
  • Ability to align communications with key business objectives
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the health care sector, preferably in a hospital environment
  • Public relations, communications, marketing or journalism degree or qualification
