The National Museum of Australia has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic professional to join the Development and Membership team in the role of Development Officer.

The Development and Membership team at the Museum works to build productive relationships with companies, government agencies, individual donors and philanthropic trusts with a view to increasing sponsorship, grant and donation revenue for the Museum.

Reporting to the Corporate Partnerships and Grants Manager, you will be required to focus on increasing support from grants, including philanthropic foundations and trusts. It will require excellent organisational and research skills. You will be responsible for identifying grant application opportunities and notifying the team. You will be responsible for coordinating the entire process, including the application and tracking of grants.

You will support the administration operations of the Development team including: dealing with general enquiries, production of letters and correspondence, mail merges and mail-outs, office organisation and scheduling, minute-taking and data entry as well as other tasks as they emerge.

In addition, you will be required to maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring all donations, sponsorships and grants are entered and monitored.
