Patient Support Officer

About the Role

  • Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, Code of Conduct, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.

  • Undertake general and periodic cleaning of all clinical and non-clinical areas within the Hospital facilities, ensuring that tasks are performed in accordance with Infection Control Guidelines and the Department of Health (DoH) Environmental Cleaning Guidelines.

  • Participation in in-service training as required ensuring compliance with all mandatory training requirements, and to comply with all directions that are commensurate with the OO2 level as outlined in the Operational Services Manual.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities.

  • Assist clinical staff in the positioning of patients utilising appropriate Patient Handling Techniques (Think Smart program) and undertaking the task under the direction and supervision of a clinical staff member; such as lifting, turning and mobilising patients.
