Arts and Cultural Development Officer

If you love organising, planning and promoting arts, culture and heritage projects then we have the right role for you with our Leisure, Recreation and Cultural Services Team.

 

As the Art and Cultural Development Officer you will:

  • Develop, coordinate, facilitate and deliver a diverse range of innovative arts, culture and heritage programs
  • Implement initiatives to drive and support the development of Banyule’s creative sector
  • Lead the development of audience engagement and evaluation strategies
  • Contribute to policy development and strategic outcomes 
  • Foster strategic relationships and networks between internal departments, community organisations, Victorian creative sector, local artists that build capacity and support activation of Banyule’s cultural assets – with a focus on the Ivanhoe Library & Cultural Hub (ILCH).

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic team orientated individual with:

  • A tertiary qualification in arts, community cultural development or a related discipline and/or proven professional experience 
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in relationship building with a diverse range of individuals and groups
  • Project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects, work unsupervised, administer budgets, manage risk and prioritise to meet project deadlines
  • Contribute positively and work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals
  • Well developed communication skills, both oral and written, including community engagement and consultation skills
  • Well-developed administration processes and PC skills eg Microsoft Suite and databases and Adobe Creative Suite 

 

 What’s on offer:

  • Temporary part time 32 hours per week
  • Maternity leave - December 2020 to September 2021
