About TasPorts

We are a state-owned company responsible for the management and operation of 11 Tasmanian maritime ports and Devonport Airport. Our purpose is to facilitate trade and export facilities for the benefit of Tasmania.

The role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic customer service driven person to perform the role of Security Operations Officer in our State Operations Centre based in Launceston. This role offers a diverse range of duties and is accountable for monitoring our ports and ensuring regulatory compliance is met.

The candidate

Ideally you will have strong demonstrated skills in customer service, a high level attention to detail, and well developed computer skills. High level of written and verbal communications skills including the ability to proactively manage the outputs of internal and external stakeholders are required.  If you have a background in customer services centres, security or emergency operations centres, or existing experience in the maritime or aviation industry would be of benefit.

A current Cert IV in OH&S and Tasmanian Security Licence (Monitoring Room) is required, however you will undergo comprehensive training prior to commencing in the role, so if you have the demonstrated capabilities to acquire both and meet the other criteria for this position we are happy to support you in obtaining these qualifications.
