The role

This position sits within the Major Assessment and Regulatory Services Department and is responsible for investigating complaints regarding development and building compliance, land use monitoring and environmental standards to ensure that relevant legislation, regulations and Council objectives and policies are complied with.

The person

In order to be successful in this position you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Building Surveying, Town Planning, Environmental Science or a similar field.
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Local Government Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act.
  • Sound research, analytical and problem solving skills with the capacity to examine complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

The package: Commencing salary from $81,000 per annum plus super.  

Location: Initially this position will be based from (Forster/Taree/Gloucester) <insert address>. In future your normal place of work will be the Council Offices at 2 Biripi Way Taree. When the time comes for you to move to Biripi Way, four weeks’ notice will be provided. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
