Teacher Mathematics

Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College is located near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate dedicated students.

Position:

Braemar College is seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics with a passion for education. We continue to embed a culture of personalised learning to achieve high standards of learning and teaching for all students.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain high standards of learning and teaching, assessment and reporting that is relevant, collaborative and future focused.
  • Use data to inform differentiated practice.
  • Contribute to Professional Learning Teams.
  • Deliver and promote student wellbeing within the College.

About You:

It is expected that you will:

  • Be enthusiastic about the education of young people.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Be conversant with senior pedagogy, having taught VCE.
  • Be a highly skilled and dedicated teacher that contributes to the Learning Area.
  • Display sound knowledge of teaching pedagogies and practices with a focus on developing students' knowledge and skills.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Mathematics up to Year 12.
  • Have a proven ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
  • Hold current Teacher registration with VIT.
  • It would be an advantage to have recent experience teaching VCE Mathematics Methods.
  • Physics would be well regarded.

In addition, the preferred applicant will have an understanding of and commitment to, the ethos of independent schooling and a willingness to contribute to College events.
