Trainee Correctional Officer

G4S Custodial Services Pty Ltd operates Mount Gambier Prison on behalf of Department for Correctional Services in South Australia. The 653 bed facility is a men's prison for sentenced and remand prisoners.

Looking for a new career in 2021

We currently have a number of opportunities for individuals to join our upcoming Correctional Officer Initial Training Course due to commence in January 2021. 

The role of a Trainee Correctional Officer is varied and challenging, just some of the duties include;

  • Maintaining the safety, security and good order of the prison, all staff, partners, visitors, prisoners and the facility itself
  • Supervision of prisoners
  • Participating in case management
  • Managing inductions and transfers of prisoners
  • Assisting and supervising visitations
  • Writing comprehensive reports all whilst continually upholding the safety and security of all persons within and the prison itself

  • Leadership & Responsibility - through your working history you will demonstrate experience where you have held responsibility, accountability or a position of leadership
