About The Role

The position of Assistant Financial Accountant is responsible for providing bookkeeping, accounting, payroll duties, and providing assistance to the Financial Accountant in the preparation of financial reports, tax compliance and other requirements as needed.

It is expected that the Assistant Financial Accountant will maintain accurate financial records for all corporate entities and provide information in a timely, complete and accurate manner.

Key responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily bank & credit card reconciliations for Corporate accounts;
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks;
  • Assistance with preparation of payroll, including collating leave forms and relevant employment documentation;
  • Processing internal invoicing and recharges;
  • Processing of monthly Instalment Activity Statements, Business Activity Statements and Superannuation payments;
  • Maintaining multiple balance sheet reconciliations and source documents;
  • Review of multiple Corporate entities 'Profit & Loss';
  • End-of-month reporting;
  • Maintaining a loan matrix for all inter-entity company loans;
  • Maintenance of a share registry;
  • Providing assistance to the Financial Accountant; and
  • Other tasks as requested by the Financial Accountant and Corporate Accounting Manager.

About You

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • 1-2 years previous experience in a similar role (highly desirable);
  • Past payroll experience (highly desirable);
  • Experience using Xero;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Advanced skills in Excel;
  • Highly organised;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong relationship management skills; and
  • Professional and immaculate presentation.
