Cairns Regional Council is currently seeking a Team Leader Engagement to join our Water & Waste Department. 

Primary Objective of the position:

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver effective and efficient communications and engagement activities for the Water and Waste Department.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as communications, community engagement (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Experience in community engagement practices, events, marketing and promotional activities
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice to management in a complex organisation and internal stakeholders on strategic direction for engagement, and emerging critical issues and risks
  • Outstanding leadership, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to motivate, challenge and engage stakeholders and teams, internally and externally
  • Proficiency in administration, computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office applications; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and online Content Management Systems and analytics
