Production Trainee

Burra Foods is a highly successful and growing Australian dairy processor that, for nearly three decades, has been producing and marketing premium dairy products to the global food manufacturing market.

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive Production Trainee who is keen to diversify their experience and develop skills across departments as part of our Production team.

We believe this opportunity will be an excellent chance for you to:

  • Obtain a Certificate III in Food Processing over 2 years.

Reporting to the Powder/Nutritional Department Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks and learning opportunities relevant to the ongoing training you will receive. You will spend time in departments across the organisation, which will depend upon the training you are receiving at that time. Each department experience will entail pairing up with a buddy, learning the fundamentals and then once training has completed for that department, you will move onto the next. So it is essential you are ready for a dynamic role. 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to learn new things and take instruction well
  • Ability to self-manage and drive pace of learning
  • Adequate computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
  • Demonstrated competent literacy and numeracy 
  • Practical understanding/mechanical aptitude
  • Proactive and has a strong sense of initiative
  • Sound problem solving and communication skills
