Architectural designer

The successful applicant will use their professional architectural design experience as a basis for new product development concepts, and will also be capable of providing commercially pragmatic and technically accurate design assistance and advice to staff and specifier clients.

This role encompasses technical support for sales staff and specifier clients, interior architectural design, project cost estimation, research and product development, trend analysis, end user documentation, and senior management team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a design and manufacturing team
  • Estimating / quantity surveying
  • Key participation within a new product development process
  • Assist specifier clients to resolve architectural detail design
  • Liaise with external consultants and contractors
  • Manage design and documentation files, design materials and libraries
  • Produce high quality output in diagrammatic, oral and written communications
  • Assist with graphic design for user instructions, and brochures.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years professional interior design/architecture experience gained in well regarded studio/s
  • Building site / contract administration experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating previous experience from concept to delivery in a range of sectors including hospitality, commercial, and large workplace design including government tenants
  • Knowledge of codes and standards relating to documentation and construction of interior environments
  • Acoustic design knowledge highly regarded
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite. (Revit, and Archicad experience also highly regarded).
  • Strong conceptual design skills
  • Proactive in business development activities
  • Ability to manage a number of projects concurrently and prioritise tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
