Communications and Engagement Officer

Pace Appointments are excited to be exclusively working with North Burnett Regional Council on this transformational and diverse role!  This is a rare opportunity to bring your communications experience, passion for writing and community engagement skills to embed yourself not only as part of a dynamic team, but as part of a passionate and proud community.  This is the perfect opportunity for someone wanting one of the most beautiful tree-changes that Queensland has to offer, with stunning national parks, the great Burnett River, water sports and an abundance of outdoor activities on your doorstep.

The Role:
Reporting to the Strategic Projects Manager, this role forms part of the Office of the CEO, managing oversight of digital, internal, external and project communications, whilst also delivering engagement activities in line with the IAP2 spectrum;
  • Delivery of effective, creative and informative content across a full scope of communication channels
  • Oversight of the marketing strategy, framework and plan in line with budget and project guidelines
  • Working alongside the Brand, Communications and Media officer to achieve “on-point” council collateral
  • Integrating digital strategy and analytics into some of Council’s more traditional communications
  • Managing competing priorities across various key Council stakeholders
  • Reviewing, revamping and owning the style guide for Council ensuring a consistent framework is implemented
  • Managing the community engagement strategy as part of a new and exciting corporate plan
You:
Thriving in an ever-evolving landscape and adapting as part of a fast moving team, you bring confidence, passion, flexibility and the ability to work autonomously to your role;
  • A love for great content and copywriting, with experience working across digital content as well as more traditional channels
  • As gatekeeper and advocate for the Council brand, you are able to keep messaging, particularly across various projects, consistent and aligned
  • Extensive knowledge and experience across community engagement, ideally with accreditation in IAP2
  • With limited media in the area, this role would benefit greatly with previous exposure to journalism, even better if this was across a government portfolio
  • Experience across project management from a marketing and communications perspective is key to the success in this role
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be expected

To Apply:
Please forward your resume to Chris on apply@paceappointmentsqld.com.au outlining your suitability for this role. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact on (07) 3630 2300
