The Position

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a 145 bed hospital located in the south west of Western Australia. It is regards as one of the finest private hospitals outside the metropolitan area. Our Kitchen / Cafe team provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and Caregivers within the hospitals Café and Food Service areas. Currently available are opportunties for committed and enthusiastic Food & Café Services Assistants to join this hardworking and friendly team.


Applicants with a basic knowledge of cash register reconciliation and cash handling techniques, understanding of and commitment to quality improvement are encouraged to apply.

 

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Accurately taking orders, money handling and till operation.
  • General duties within the Café.
  • Assist in the preparation, plating, and delivery of meals to the ward for patients and staff throughout the hospital.
  • Assist with washing of cutlery, cookery, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
  • Assist with general kitchen hygiene including the washing of walls, floors, refrigerators and other areas as required.

Positions will be offered on a Casual basis, working a variety of shifts to cover planned and unplanned leave.  The successful applicants must be flexible to accept a range of shifts, including at short notice. Barista experience would be viewed favourably.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Demonstrated experience within a Café and/or food service environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member with excellent work ethics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • A basic knowledge of all areas of kitchen hygiene.
