State Manager NSW/ACT

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate retail professional to lead our NSW/ACT team to create a great customer experience and continue our strategy of a clearly differentiated offer that engages our customers and grows our business.

Our team is critical to the success of the business so your ability to develop the retail and leadership capability of 8 Regional Managers and Store Management team is essential. Simplification, excellent execution, and continuous improvement will be at the heart of how you deliver results.  You will be passionate about the customer and keep them top of mind in all decisions you make.

The Reject Shop is an ASX listed Australian Discount Variety retailer currently operating more than 350 stores nationally. We pride ourselves on our supportive team culture and understanding our customers, delivering the best value and variety possible. NSW and ACT has over 100 stores. The role reports into the GM of Operations.

The preferred candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience

  • A strong ability to identify and develop internal talent, creating succession plans and career paths
  • Be a leader who fosters team engagement
  • Refined leadership and communication skills that support your Regional Managers to achieve their goals
  • Demonstrates experience in driving sales and full P&L accountability
  • Proven track record in delivering results through people in a fast paced, high volume retail environment
  • A customer first approach
  • A strong grasp on financial acumen, demonstrating the ability to interpret a range of financial and sales reports. As well as a proven history in developing action plans and initiatives to drive results based on these reports
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with Senior Executives
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Drivers licence to travel to stores.
