National HR & Operations Manager

FREECHOICE Australia currently has over 300 Retail and Franchise Stores and vending machines across Australia, and is the leading specialist tobacconist retailer in Australia and is seeking applications from an experienced, dynamic Human Resources & Operations Manager to join our team at our Gold Coast head office.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and part of the senior leadership team , with over 150 staff, this is a busy, diverse and very hands-on role so strong project management skills and initiative will be your keys to success.

This role is a multifaceted one incorporating resourcing, recruitment, employee relations and engagement, training plus development and reporting. As the Human Resources & Operations Manager you will provide high level advice and coaching to the management team and staff across all facets of HR principles and Operational needs to the business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day to day resourcing needs with managers
  • End-to-end Recruitment, selection and inductions
  • Annual salary and performance reviews
  • Performance Management
  • HR advice, compliance and best practice, policies and procedures
  • Employee engagement and succession planning
  • Foster a prosperous workplace culture
  • High quality Industrial and Employee Relations delivery
  • Strategic workforce Planning
  • Administration of all employee data/files ensuring compliance with legislation requirements
  • HR reporting
  • Fortnightly payroll administration
  • Manage/negotiate insurance portfolio
  • Fleet Management
  • Lead the Occupation Health and Safety Committee
  • Work Cover/RTW programs

Skills & Experience Required
 

  • Proven ability to successfully develop and implement HR strategies, processes and policies
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement; ability to influence and collaborate diplomatically
  • A deep understanding of employee relations, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Experience in the FWO/FWC, ability to prepare submission/represent in hearings and/or conciliations
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, while consulting and collaborating as needed
  • Ability to work across HR and operations and enjoy role diversity
  • Minimum 5 years Human Resources Management experience, preferably obtained within a fast-paced, multifaceted industry
  • Degree qualified in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations – post graduate qualifications highly desirable
  • A demonstrated understanding of awards classifications and interpretation
  • Excellent people management and communications skills
  • Ability to work with people of all levels
  • Deadline driven and ability to work under pressure

This is a very hands on HR and operational role in a fast paced environment that will require pace and tempo, the ability to work under pressure whilst delivering results in a large and professional office in Upper Coomera.
