ABOUT THE POSITION

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Vineyard Supervisor to join our dynamic and growing organisation in this key operational position. Based at McLaren Flat this hands-on role reports through to the Commercial Horticulture Manager. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the vineyard
  • Optimise yields by monitoring vine health and completing necessary actions to manage and maintain the vines
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders as well as negotiate the best possible prices with contractors and suppliers
  • Maintain plant and equipment, troubleshooting problems and putting forward recommendations for equipment repairs or replacement
  • Training and supervision of regular and seasonal Vineyard staff.
  • Contribute to the overall profitability of the Group, applying best practice operations principles

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Commercial vineyard experience
  • Extensive practical agriculture and vine knowledge
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Intermediate computing skills and experience in using Microsoft office (word, excel, and outlook) as well as irrigation control software
  • A current driver's licence and forklift licence
  • Chem cert
  • Formal qualifications in agriculture/horticulture will be highly regarded
