Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College has two campuses, both of which are located near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings and teach committed and passionate students.

Position:

Braemar College is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Music with a passion for education. Specifically, across years 5 to 8 mostly located at our Woodend Campus. The position is part-time and approximately 40%.

We continue to embed a culture of personalised learning to achieve high standards of learning and teaching for all students.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain high standards of learning and teaching, assessment and reporting that is relevant, collaborative and future-focused.
  • Use data to inform differentiated practice.
  • Plan collaboratively with teaching teams.
  • Be enthusiastic about teaching Music.
  • Deliver and promote student wellbeing within the College.

About You:

It is expected that you will:

  • Be enthusiastic about the education of young people.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Music curriculum.
  • Have recent experience in teaching Music, graduates will also be considered.
  • Be open to the possibilities of teaching in flexible learning spaces.
  • Be a highly skilled and dedicated teacher that contributes to the team.
  • Display sound knowledge of teaching pedagogies and practices with a focus on developing students' knowledge and skills.
  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Music up to Year 12.
  • Have a proven ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
  • Hold current Teacher registration with VIT.

It is necessary that the successful candidate would commence 22 January 2021.

In addition, the preferred applicant will have an understanding of and commitment to, the ethos of Independent schooling and a willingness to contribute to College events.
