Business Development Manager

MyPlace is a leading edge smart home product which is designed and manufactured in Australia and distributed both within Australia and overseas. It is the latest product in a long line of smart products from Advantage Air, which itself has been in business for 30 years and while the market leader in the air-conditioning industry in Australia, is still a family owned company with the original founders and owners still working in the business today.

We have large market shares in both Western Australia and Queensland, including supplying our product into a number of Australia’s largest builders. Arj Barker is our brand ambassador, and our product features on Channel 9's The Block.

Our NSW operation is 3 years old, and we have the desire, vision and ability to grow a significant business here also. Our growth prospects are strong and as such we have available a position for a business development manager to join our expanding team.

The role is primarily a B2B role, however some retail sales are also involved in this varied and exciting role. You will work closely alongside the General Manager, and will also engage with the Managing Director and CEO.

The right person for this role is strongly driven to grow business, yet also has a strong desire to buy in to the uniqueness of our company along with its selling process and ever-changing strategic environment, thus enjoys working together with the leadership to produce greater results than could otherwise be achieved alone.

Requirements for this role are as follows:

  • Exceptional listening skills
  • A strong desire to learn and challenge oneself
  • Enjoy solving problems for customers such that they buy from you as opposed to you selling to them
  • A good understanding of general business acumen to make an effective sale that is not based on price
  • A strong desire to achieve

The above qualities mean much more to us than your previous sales experience and success.
