Our Client, Paterson IGA, is family owned and operated for over 28 years & is renowned for their wonderful Community spirit and personalised customer service, which is indicative and so necessary in a country town. This caring family approach to their business, has been even more evident throughout COVID-19, where they have gone ‘above & beyond’ by endeavouring to ensure their customers did not go without, during the pandemic shortages!

On their behalf, we are looking for 2 ‘high energy’ team members who love to keep active and busy and who are always willing to go the extra mile for their customers and the team. The role is physical in nature, so you will need to enjoy hands-on work and be comfortable lifting and moving boxes, within weight guidelines. The store is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturdays; the ability to work shifts within these hours is paramount although these roles are only required to work occasional Saturdays.

As we are looking for longer term, permanent (part time) employees, ideally they will reside within a 30 km radius of Paterson and would need to feel comfortable travelling on country roads to get to work in their own vehicle, as public transport is not a feasible option.

Prior experience in a fast paced, retail environment (ideally groceries, fruit & vegetables) will be viewed favourably; however, a positive and flexible attitude and honest, hardworking spirit are an absolute must.

Essential requirements for the roles are;  

  • Basic computer skills, for serving and ticketing
  • Operating cash registers; cash handling & EFTPOS machines
  • Receiving stock, unpacking & packing shelves
  • Lifting boxes etc., with weight guidelines adhered to
  • Standing & walking for extended periods
  • General cleaning duties
  • Assisting customers by carrying bags to vehicles
  • Home deliveries of fruit, vegetables and groceries using the company van, to homes in town, and also rural properties in the general Paterson and surrounding townships; a current ‘clean’ drivers’ licence (with no demerit points) is required
