About The Opportunity

Your role as a Community Development Officer is to develop and implement a range of strategies that ensure the community have access to information and services, and to ensure the Bundaberg Regional Council has an awareness of issues across the Region.  The role will facilitate various programs and activities for the whole community. 

 

About you

  • Possess tertiary qualifications in either Community Development, Human Services, Social Work or Behavioural/Social Sciences
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in Community Development, working with disadvantaged persons, individual groups, youth and communities
  • Demonstrated experience in co-ordinating activities in a regional/rural environment including the ability to attract, identify and source funding for community projects
  • Possess knowledge of and skills in social needs analysis, social planning and service development, and to develop strategic responses to address identified needs
  • Extensive experience with local and regional networks and government departments and knowledge of relevant government policy and funding programs
  • Proven skills in using a high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, communicate and problem solve effectively
  • Strong skill set in prioritising tasks, managing workflows and utilising a high level of initiative to achieve set goals
  • Live and uphold the Council's values
