Undergraduate/Graduate Engineer (multiple positions available)


THIS IS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP YOUR CAREER AS AN ENGINEERING PROFESSIONAL

About the role

  • You will work to assist with Toowoomba Regional Council projects and activities associated with the provision of Engineering Services in Local Government. These positions will rotate through Toowoomba Regional Council Branches to assist with project exposure, enhancing training and development needs.
  • The salary range for an Undergraduate is $59,228.59 - $64,155.15 gross per annum, and the salary range for a Graduate will be $65,834.43 - $79,282.96 (dependent on experience) plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.
  • These positions are temporary full-time for a four-year contract period.
  • As this position is in Council's Generator Program, applicants must have graduated in either 2020 or be eligible to graduate in 2021.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

You will need:

  1. The mandatory qualifications and experience as outlined in the "Success Criteria" of the attached Position Description.
  2. Ability to apply engineering principles, standards and concepts as well as generate technical reports and designs as required.
  3. Well-developed analytical and research skills.
  4. Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to lead a team, set work program priorities, monitor workflows and establish outcomes to achieve departmental / Council’s goals.
  5. Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
  6. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
  7. Understanding of and Commitment to Council's Value and Behaviour of "Teamwork".
