Executive Manager - Buying Strategy

An exciting opportunity has become available within the National Buying Department of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury.  This is a permanent full-time role.

 

This role is responsible for unlocking opportunities by utilising value chain and engagement expertise to consult with various stakeholders, in order to maximise category performance and drive efficiencies.  In this role, you will employ project management frameworks to further develop category strategy.

 

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced consultant with proven success in partnering with suppliers and internal teams to deliver value through product and category optimisation. The successful candidate will demonstrate an “out of the box” approach, when executing strategic projects and managing change.

 

Selection criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications within a relevant field
  • Minimum 5+ years’ consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and value chain mapping, ideally in FMCG
  • Proven ability in data triangulation for problem-solving, with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in project and change management
  • Experience in delivering tools and capabilities using project management methodologies
  • Proven ability to drive business opportunity initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • High level of commercial acumen and negotiation skills

Role responsibilities:   

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand and resolve complex category challenges
  • Develop strategic partnerships through the facilitation of workshops and joint planning
  • Apply project management frameworks to implement commercial planning opportunities
  • Lead project sprints from business case development to value realisation
  • Deliver value through product and category optimisation
  • Utilise various data sources to provide analysis and insights
  • Present recommendations and measured outcomes to senior management
  • Implement change management initiatives to support strategic optimisation outcomes
  • Provide relevant training as required
