Community Engagement Officer

Fixed Term Part Time until February 2021

DPV have been delivering COVID-19 Testing across Melbourne since June 2020 and have recently extended these services via two Rapid Response Testing Teams. DPV Health is working very closely with DHHS to deliver these critical supports into the community during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

A little about the role

The Rapid Response Team (RRT) is an initiative by Department of Health and Human Services to prevent, respond to and limit outbreaks of coronavirus. As the Community Engagement Officer, you will be providing effective communication and community engagement services including accessible information, education and promotion of services and processes relating to COVID-19 testing.

Within this role, you will assist with identifying relevant promotional opportunities to improve communication with CALD communities and support the Community Engagement Leads within their LGA teams. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to findings from community assessments to improve the uptake of testing and planning for outcomes.

 

 

About you

  • You will have relevant experience and knowledge in contemporary issues that vulnerable people and communities experience in a COVID-19 setting.

  • You are experienced in conducting needs assessment and have the ability to refer to appropriate services. In addition, you will have a well developed understanding of safe practices relating to pandemic and infection control and OHS.
  • Sensitivity to issues related to the provision of services in a community of high cultural diversity
  • Utilises interpersonal skills and tools to establish constructive rapport with clients from a variety of cultures, religions and socio-economic circumstances
