Trade Assistant

Toll People are recruiting Trade Assistants with heavy road transport experience. This is a fulltime position that requires you to work safely as part of a team utilising your personal skills, equipment workshops processes, procedures, industry & legislative standards to maintain Group Operational Services equipment, continually improving asset, utilisation & availability.


Skills essential to the job:

  • Ability to diagnose faults safely, competently and efficiently in a timely manner
  • Strong technical knowledge of company owned fleet assets
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements (including but not limited to: DPI, MRD, and Worksafe & DMP)
  • Adherence to HSE policies, practices and procedures
  • Maintain and repair Toll assets to Toll, OEM, industry and statutory requirements and standards
  • Competent use of testing equipment, hand tools and workshop equipment
  • Ability to develop knowledge from online, workplace, OEM and trades manuals
  • Experience in heavy transport industry
  • Undertake competently, minor welding and/or fabrication tasks as directed
  • Undertake competently, electrical repairs as directed
  • Experience in welding ferrous and alloy materials (essential)

Qualifications:

  • Excellent command of written and verbal literacy
  • Proven experience in maintaining heavy road transport equipment
  • WA HC licence (minimum)
  • Forklift licence (preferable)
  • National police check (no older than six months)
  • Cert II Welding Certificate (essential)
