About the role 

Heart Foundation are currently recruiting for an experienced senior project manager to coordinate and support the development of a new State-wide Walking Strategy.

Based at the Heart Foundation in Adelaide, the primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and manage the work required to develop a Walking Strategy for South Australia.

The project is a partnership between Heart Foundation and Wellbeing SA and will require collaboration across key government departments and agencies

The Strategy will utilise collective knowledge, best evidence and best practice to ensure a successful outcome, shaped through co-design and community engagement.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a passionate community of experts across a broad range of sectors, including health, transport, planning, sport, transport and environment.

To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in planning, transport, public health or relevant discipline in addition to the following skills, experience and knowledge.

  • Worked in a complex environment across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Sound knowledge of South Australian political and governmental processes.
  • Understanding of key health promotion concepts and principles.
  • Experience in embedding health policies across sectors.
  • Success in negotiating and creating partnerships between government and non-government organisations.
  • Experience with consumer and stakeholder engagement and co-design and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary project management methodology.
  • Demonstration of critical and systems thinking.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in strategic planning.
  • High quality communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills.
