Leasehold Officer

Wentworth Community Housing is seeking applications for the position of Leasehold Officer.

This role is a full time maximum term role up to and including 31 March 2021.

The primary purpose of this role will be to contribute to a major project and will involve:

  • working with real estate agents and private owners to obtain deed of assignment for all leasehold properties
  • procuring, managing and returning leasehold acquisitions
  • engaging with and assisting tenants occupying properties
  • managing/resolving issues as they arise
  • consistently achieving and monitoring leasehold quota through acquisition and disposal within budget

This role is based in our Penrith office, with some flexible working options considered.

Remuneration for this role is based on Level 4 of the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award and starts from $71,489.08 per annum plus superannuation.

Core Criteria:

  1. Qualifications in a property/real estate management field and/or at least 3-5 years relevant demonstrated experience ideally in a property or real estate role
  2. Understanding of housing issues facing people with particular needs and how these can be impacted by the physical environment of a property
  3. Knowledge of policy and legislation applying to social housing tenancies including application of the Residential Tenancy Act (2010)
  4. A strong and proven ability to communicate at all levels and build/maintain key partnerships with staff and internal/external stakeholders including with tenants, real estate agents, contractors
  5. Computer literacy including familiarity with the Microsoft suite of programs, email & databases
