We are an established firm based in South East Melbourne. We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant, to assist with the management of our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for various clients across different industries.

The person we seek should be professional, self motivated, able to work autonomously in a busy but relax environment.  Excellent organisational skills and accuracy are essential, as well as good customer relation skills and ability to communicate clearly. This position is for 3 or 4 day work per week.

The role will include:

  • Payroll, payroll tax and superannuation payments
  • Bank & various account reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledger
  • Prepare month end and year end journals and adjustments
  • Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS
  • Prepare cash flow & budget for various clients
  • Prepare management and other accounting reports as required
  • Prepare reports for self-managed super fund
  • Liaise with clients

Applicants require:

  • A minimum of 2 years full function bookkeeping experience in public practice
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Expertise in MYOB, Xero and other cloud software
  • Knowledge of BGL Simple Fund is highly desirable
  • Intermediate Excel Skills
  • High level of initiative, proactive, and forward thinking attitude
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Passionate in helping clients to grow their business
  • Experience in preparing tax return will be advantageous
