Marketing Assistant

About the Company

Our client is a marketing agency that works with start-ups and businesses that are doing things differently—whether that’s with technology or a new and better approach in an established industry.

Combining their expertise in strategy and marketing and obsession with humans and data, our client helps the brands they work with capture the right attention and get their next 10 customers, 1000 users or $50k in monthly recurring revenue.

Since starting up in 2018, our client’s business has grown year on year, and they are now looking for an aspiring Marketing Assistant to join the team.

Why You Want to Work Here

This is your chance to jump start your career, working alongside a senior marketing strategist and putting what you learn into practice. Whilst other marketing opportunities may provide an entry into social media, SEO, SEM and other disciplines, you have the chance to stand out from the other marketing professionals by gaining additional experience in strategy and how marketing plays a role in business growth.

An investment in your learning will be a major priority, which will take place with a structured learning and development plan, coaching and mentoring sessions as well as exposure to clients and a breadth of topics.  Once you are ready, you will have the ability to take on tasks at a level beyond what you would normally have the opportunity to do elsewhere.

About You

Maybe you are currently completing a degree in Marketing or Communications and are looking for your first break into the profession, or perhaps you don’t have a formal qualification and are deeply passionate about marketing. You have always been interested in how content creation feeds into a bigger marketing strategy or how data can be used to make decisions. You also like keeping up to date what type of content is trending and what changes have been to the Instagram algorithm (again!).

Your keen eye for detail has meant you have picked up on details others missed, and you have always ensured the work you do is high quality and error free. What has been even more critical has been your empathy – you can take yourself out of your own shoes and can write to engage people that are far different than you.

Most importantly, you are incredibly organised and are proud of your ability to complete your assignments and study on time, whilst also maintaining part-time employment. As an achievement-oriented person, you want to work with like-minded individuals who want the best work possible and the best out of each other.

About the Role

Working directly with the Director and a Marketing Coordinator, you will add value by:
  • Developing organic and paid social media content for both B2C and B2B platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Google Ads, and LinkedIn.
  • Scheduling, monitoring and reporting on social media and campaign performances and then, applying changes to improve performance based on learnings and insights.
  • Write, edit and publish SEO or PR-driven content for both the agency and clients.
  • Assist in building and nurturing an online community both through social media and email.
  • Assist in developing marketing and content strategies and analysing data to make sound recommendations.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • A knack for content creation
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Be available for casual hours

What Next

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, please click “Apply Now” and submit the following:
  • Your resume.
  • Your cover letter detailing why you are applying for this role, your current work availability, as well as describing a brand or company you admire for doing things differently.

Respectfully, only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
