About the role

The Peer Group Coordinator (PGC) role will be based in Wodonga or Wangaratta with a focus on Southern NSW & the Ovens & Murray area of Victoria. The PGC will work with the Team Leader and Advocacy Manager to establish and coordinate the Members to Leaders program which has a focus on Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Wangarrata, Griffith and surrounding areas.  The position will work under the general direction of the Team Leader in line with RDAS policy and procedures and will cover the following areas of work: 

  • Implement the work plan for the Members to Leaders Program; 

  • Deliver 8 (monthly) right-based community education sessions in group homes, day programs and other identified avenues in at least 9 locations across the Riverina-Murray and North-East Victoria Regions; 

  • Deliver training and support for people with disability to facilitate education sessions. 

  • Supervise and support a team of casual facilitators; 

  • Identify and support community 'champions' and other supporting organisations or groups; 

  • Help establish and build capacity of groups in each location to be able to continue on past the end of the project independently; 

  • Work with the Team Leader to provide quarterly reports required for the RDAS Board and the funding body (DSS), including an overall evaluation report at the conclusion of the project.
