Luerssen Australia is a subsidiary of Lürssen, a 4th generation family-owned German company that builds Naval defence vessels and luxury yachts from its nine shipyards across Northern Germany.
Luerssen Australia is engaged as the prime contractor to build 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Department of Defence over a 12 year period.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo the Australian Defence Force Security Clearance process, of which a minimum requirement is Australian Citizenship.
The Roles
We are looking for talented Designers to join our Project in Henderson on a permanent basis. You will be performing various design tasks in your field of expertise. Participation in design reviews will also be part of these roles.
Requirements
- Recognised qualifications in the field of Design/Naval Architecture/Engineering or an equivalent level of significant practical experience
- Experience in a marine/maritime/defence environment - knowledge of shipbuilding preferred
- Demonstrated ability to use various drafting tools in both the 2D and 3D space.
- Experience in the integration of marine systems
- Strong ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Commitment to working in a collaborative team environment
- True customer focused attitude
