The opportunity

This large government department, based in the Brisbane CBD requires an ICT Senior Network Engineer. It is responsible for duties associated with the management, administration and support of a large corporate data communication network.

What we are looking for?

An experienced Network Analyst who can provide network support services within a large corporate environment, which result in resolution to network admin tasks and troubleshooting. Provide input /advice on trends that relate to the management and ongoing development of network configurations

• Design/Configuration/Implementation of complex Cisco based data communication networks including datacentre, metropolitan and regional network platforms
• Management and support of data communication related services which include:
  • Telstra IPWAN ,IPVPN and other MPLS carrier based networks, WDM, dark and managed fibre optics services, structured cabling solutions, Riverbed application accelerators and wireless (WiFi) technologies
• Utilisation of network management platforms which include:
  • Statseeker, SolarWinds, EasyIP, Cisco Integrated Service Engine (ISE), Fluke Cable Testers, and LiveAction Network Performance Manager
• Network analysis and fault diagnosis
• Current Class C manual driver’s licence

Desirable Skills:

• Riverbed WAN optimisation technology design/implementation/management
• Quality of Service (QoS) policy design/implementation/management
• Voice of IP (VoIP)
• Network Access Control (NAC)
• Technical report writing
• ITIL framework
• Cisco certification

 

What you will get out of it?

This is a full time minimum 40 hrs per week contract for a period of 12 months. Working within a large cohesive team to provide a level of service and best practice to keep the department running smoothly in relation to the network and security and issues that arise on a daily basis.
