Assistant Accountant /Junior Analyst

At Bankstown Sports we have a newly created Assistant Accountant/Junior Analyst position which will become an integral part of our finance team!

Bankstown Sports is one of NSW's largest and leading reputable clubs with over 100,000 members and 530 employees. We are a proud supporter of the local community and provide our Members and patrons a wide variety of restaurants, bars and entertainment facilities. We also have several associated venues: Bankstown Sports Bowls, Birrong Sports, Baulkham Hills Sports Club, The Acres Club and Auburn Tennis Club.

About the Role…

The Assistant Accountant & Junior Analyst position will provide financial accounting and management services to the finance department .The position will be required to perform a mix of tasks and responsibilities which will support both Financial Reporting and Commercial Analysis. This role is highly suitable for someone who has good financial accounting experience with the hope to develop a career focus in analytics.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Perform Bank Reconciliations
  • Processing of all journals required for month end completion
  • Assist the Finance Month End process
  • Assist with Stocktake Counts and Reconciliation
  • Assist Balance sheet Reconciliations
  • Assist in processing of year-end journals required for year-end reconciliations
  • Gift card reconciliation
  • Process Petty Cash transactions
  • Process Merchant Receipts
  • Assist in Expense analysis when required
  • Update and maintain regular management KPI reporting
  • Work with business stakeholders to produce ad hoc reporting e.g., evaluate campaign specific outcomes
  • Draw insights and observations from multiple data sources to identify revenue or cost saving opportunities
  • Business partnering – engage with a cross section of business stakeholders to provide business insights and ask questions

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency status
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
