Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology services the Brisbane metropolitan area and regional areas extending as far north as Cairns and south to Coffs Harbour and offers both routine testing and specialised testing for referral laboratories throughout Australia.

About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a full time Rotational Laboratory Scientist to join their multidisciplinary Townsville Laboratory, which operates 24 hours a day.

Previous laboratory scientific experience within a multi-disciplinary laboratory would be highly desirable. Departments encompassed include: Haematology, Biochemistry, Immunohaematology, Microbiology and Histology.

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in medical laboratory science (or equivalent);
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Haematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunohaematology, Biochemistry and Histology disciplines;
  • Be an enthusiastic, self-motivated person, with comprehensive understanding of a pathology laboratory operation in conjunction with accreditation requirements;
  • Have a high level of interpersonal skills, high level organisational skills and a commitment to customer service;
  • Have the ability to proactively work autonomously and within a team, while focussing on providing timely and accurate results for SNP referrers within a busy regional laboratory; and
  • Display a strong problem-solving ability, along with effective communication/interpersonal skills.

This role will involve participation in a 24/7 rotational shift rosterSullivan Nicolaides Pathology is therefore seeking flexible and enthusiastic individuals. Please note however, that the organisation is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance for all their staff.
