About ABC Regional & Local
The ABC’s Regional & Local team is all about Australian communities and their conversations. Our teams create unique and distinctive content that connect communities and shape lives in metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. From our eight capital city radio stations, our forty four regional bureaux, through to screen, live events and sport, Regional & Local is about real people, real places and real life.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief of Staff and working together within a small team, you will create content for multiple platforms to engage local and national audiences.
You will also:
- Create original, accurate content for radio, video, social, digital, mobile, TV and audio platforms.
- Facilitate and moderate audience driven content initiatives, including social news-gathering.
- Explore and investigate issues, people and places that are important to the audience, and tell those stories to a national diverse audience.
- Develop digital skills of content teams through mentoring and guidance.
- Support news-gathering operations where required
About You
Do you have strong editorial instincts, with experience in creating unique stories that resonate with audiences and told with creativity, brevity and flair?
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
- Proficiency in capture of audio, video and still images to enhance stories, and post-production experience.
- Understanding of local regional audience and national audience habits.
- Tech savvy mindset using content management systems and social media tools.
- Great communication skills to build relationships with people from a range of diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to remote locations .
- Current valid driver's license.
