Laboratory Technician

PERSOLKELLY is currently seeking Laboratory Logistics Officer.

ASAP start - 3m temporary role.

Laboratory Logistics Officer' key contribution

Effective and efficient centralised sample receipt function at Melbourne Laboratory ensuring all samples are appropriately processed and delivered to on site laboratories in a timely manner to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.

The Technical Officer role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Centrally receive and process routine and adhoc samples delivered to the lab ensuring that required protocols and standards are met. Ensuring that samples are quickly delivered to the respective laboratory areas to meet analytical holding times and to support the achievement of improved customer turnaround times.
  • Log of all dispatch on the computerised courier system and within LIMS.
  • Ensure adequate supplies for the function are available at all times including maintaining branding, cleanliness and return of eskies. Investigate all issues regarding samples with inappropriate information and samples centrally received and not booked into laboratories.
  • Receive goods delivered at the Melbourne Laboratory, notifying laboratories of receipt and delivery to relevant departments as required.
  • Dispatch of samples to outsourced testing laboratories.

Requirements:

  • Experience in sample receipt and/or logistics within a laboratory environment
  • Highly organised with demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively manage, prioritise and execute multiple tasks
  • Proven skills of high attention to detail
  • Experience in LIMS and Microsoft office products
  • Ability to focus on customers' needs at all times
