  • Permanent Opportunity
  • Open to Any Australian Office Location
  • Regulatory & Insurance Risk, Product & Pricing, Direct Insurance Australia

About the Role
The Product & Pricing team has come a long way since its inception in 2018. In that time, we’ve seen a lot of success; laying solid foundations that will help IAG become the insurance company of the future. Our purpose as a team remains the same - delivering the right product at the right price - but our structure has evolved to make it easier for all of us to achieve this aim.

As an Insurance Risk Specialist, you will document and maintain efficient and effective insurance risk frameworks. You will monitor compliance with these frameworks as well as adherence to the IAG Group Insurance Risk Framework. In addition, you will be providing insurance risk insights and you will implement and oversee consistent licensing across the division. You will also make a key contribution to the improvement of Product and Pricing’s risk maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain efficient and effective insurance risk frameworks
  • Conduct the scheduled programmes of review and reporting in line with the insurance risk operating framework
  • Develop and maintain relationships and communication with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Monitor the division’s adherence to the Group Insurance Risk Framework and the Business Division Licence through the coordination and completion of the Insurance Standards Self-Assessment (ISSA)
  • Record and track actions required to close adherence gaps with the Group Insurance Risk Framework and Business Division licence
  • Maintain governance of the Portfolio Licensing Framework to ensure underwriting licences are issued consistent with delegated underwriting authorities via LARS (Licence Authority Register System) and other licensing systems, and Product/ Portfolio Licences are issued for each segment and product
  • Administration of LARS and other licensing systems including performance of the application
  • Document and maintain the insurance risk frameworks, policies and procedures including document management, version control and the document management repository
  • Review Insurance Risk breaches consistent with regulatory and internal insurance risk practices

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive insurance industry experience, preferably in Underwriting or Claims, with the ability to demonstrate a level of knowledge and skills reflective of an insurance specialist who has progressed within specialist technical, governance, risk and/or operational management positions of increasing responsibility
  • Proven experience managing insurance risk frameworks in a way that engages with, and meets business needs and objectives
  • Proven ability to develop, foster and leverage key relationships
  • Relevant undergraduate degree in business, or equivalent level of industry experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is preferred
  • Relevant industry or specialist qualifications e.g. ANZIIF (preferred)
