Our client is a growing construction company located on the Central Coast (NSW). They build contemporary, custom-built homes across Sydney’s North Shore, Central Coast and Hunter region. They are all about providing premium craftmanship and in ensuring a seamless building process from start to finish. Open communication, collaboration and work efficiencies are their mantra.
Due to their reputation for excellence and the ever-increasing demand for new homes, renovations, and turnkey homes; our client is looking to secure two new full-time, permanent Project / Site Supervisors.
Your New Role
As the Project / Site Supervisor you will be expected to work both on and off tools while running a site and supervising apprentices and sub-contractors. You will be responsible for all aspects of carpentry on building sites, including, but not limited to; framing, skirting, flooring, joinery, forming and decking.   
Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage on-site operations to schedule
  • Co-ordinate with operations regarding sub-contractors and material supplies
  • Read and interpret plans to determine materials required
  • Carry out required measurements and calculations
  • Supervise apprentices and sub-contractors on-site
  • Manage issues arising on-site
  • Cut and assemble materials as per specifications
  • Construct and dismantle formwork as per project requirements
  • Erect framework, lay sub-flooring and decking
  • Maintain safe work practices on-site
  • Ensure jobs are completed to the highest of standards
About You
To be considered for an interview you will need to be able to multi- task, adapt to change, be a creative problem solver and show a willingness to figure things out on the hop. While the usual time management, organisational and communication skills are a must; key to this role is your ethical attitude and your ability to maintain an upbeat and positive frame of mind. You will also need to demonstrate:

  • Carpentry qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate IV in Building & Construction)
  • 3+ years’ experience as a qualified Carpenter working on a variety of residential projects
  • Demonstrated experience working on renovations
  • Experience in supervising and managing apprentices and sub-contractors
  • An ability to work independently, with little or no supervision
  • An understanding of building practices and industry trends
  • An understanding of industry costs & corresponding trades
