Business Development Manager - HR and Payroll Services for SMEs


Remuneration:
 Above market base salary | $200k to $250k OTE p.a




Operating for over 25 years, Employment Innovations is one of the largest HR and Payroll service providers in Australia to the SME and mid-tier markets. Having recently experienced rapid growth we are looking for a Melbourne-based BDM to help us grow our Victorian presence.

Our HR and Payroll annuity services are delivered with the aid of market-leading tech, and with low churn and high customer satisfaction, our BDM team averages over a 40% opportunity close rate and has not missed a quarterly target in the past 2 years.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this is a 100% new business role which will see you solution sell in a consultative approach where the right service fit to the needs of a prospect is paramount. While responsible for the Melbourne territory, EI delivers its services nationally and as such you will be handed qualified MQLs from other states.

You will have the support of our marketing and internal SDR teams who will deliver over 50% of your opportunities with the remainder gained through your own prospecting and networks. As we service all industries and business size from 10 through to 1,000 employees, there are no limitations placed on how you build your pipeline. 

COVID-19 has transformed the way we do business with our BDMs now working to meet monthly revenue targets predominantly via phone and Zoom. This is a role which will see you responsible for the entire sales cycle while accessing the full support of SDRs and pre-sales technicians for demonstrations.

For the right BDM with B2B experience (payroll software and services a bonus) you will have the opportunity to not only earn generous sales commissions, but to position yourself for more senior sales roles in line with company growth.


Key responsibilities 
  • Deliver against a Monthly Recurring Revenue target through identifying sales and service that would appeal to new clients
  • Build a sales pipeline that contains a mix of lead sources; marketing, partner, self-sourced, SDR
  • Creating sales pitches, proposals and executing sales objectives
  • Preparing sales contracts; following company rules and guidelines
  • Arranging business meetings (virtual and F2F) along with attending networking events
  • Create a network of partners and referrers across industries and sectors
  • Ensure that our products and services are matched against prospect needs helping to maintain our low customer churn rate
  • Work with the wider sales and marketing team to contribute to campaign ideation
  • Work with the internal SDR team to provide feedback on the needs analysis of qualified inbound opportunities
  • Diligently manage our CRM (Salesforce) and various related sales tools provided to you.
  • Always uphold the EI brand values within the market helping to grow our reputation through service delivery, product fit and knowledge sharing.

Key requirements 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a B2B BDM role ideally within the professional services, payroll, HR, insurance or finance industry - software sales experience an added bonus. 
  • Proven track-record of over achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets - you must be a high achiever
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Proven networker with an ability to grow your own network along with relying on sales and marketing generated leads
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional in time management & prioritisation
  • Hyper-competitive, motivated, and driven to do what it takes to succeed
