Strategy Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a commercial and experienced Strategy Manager to join our Executive team. This position will be permanent part-time (circa 3 days per week) so will suit someone who is looking for their next role to combine flexibility with a highly strategic and commercially focussed remit.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the Executive team and the Whites Group Board, the Strategy Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying business growth opportunities that sit outside of the scope of the current core business strategy as well as working to create actionable business plans for realistic opportunities for growth.

 

The role is responsible for:

  • Working with the MD and the Executive team as an internal consultant; taking time to understand the current strategic plan, and what types of opportunities may work synergistically with our core business
  • Developing and leading the company growth strategy with a view of focussing 3-5 years ahead of the current business strategy
  • Identifying growth opportunities and assessing their suitability to Whites ie: do they draw on our strengths as a business (sourcing, logistics, sales)
  • Developing a framework of priorities that informs each opportunity identified and it’s feasibility based on a set criteria
  • Working with the MD, the Executive team and the Board to action commercial opportunities

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in business, commerce or similar
  • Experience in assessing new markets for growth
  • Demonstrated ability in project management and  strong communication and stakeholder management skills (including C Suite and Board level)
  • Deep analytical capability with proven ability to translate insights into practical, actionable initiatives
  • Exposure to a range of strategic functions including Mergers & Acquisitions (desirable)
