Catering Assistant - Aged Care, Immediate Start!

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 1,300 personnel across various operations nationally.
 

About the role

We are currently seeking a Catering Assistants to work at our client's aged care facility in Penrith, NSW.
*Start date: Monday 18th January

Shifts schedule: 

ROLE 1:

  • Mondays: 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Tuesdays:  6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Wednesdays: 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Thursdays: 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Fridays: 6:30am - 2:30pm


ROLE 2:

  • Mondays: 2:30pm - 8:00pm
  • Tuesdays: 2:30pm - 8:00pm
  • Wednesdays: 6:30am - 2:30pm
  • Thursdays: 6:30am - 2:30pm


ROLE 3:

  • Mondays: 4:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Tuesdays: 4:00pm - 8:00pm

*You must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia as the position will be rostered for 25+ hours per week.

 

Skills and experience

  • 1+ year's experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded.
  • Spanish speaking desirable but not essential
  • Reliable, punctual and a team player
  • Able to follow workplace health & safety procedures and complete food safety logs 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines
  • Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
  • The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen.
  • Must have reliable transport.
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing meal service to elderly residents
  • Cleaning of serveries and kitchen area
  • Adhering to and completing food safety/quality assurance documents
  • Washing dishes in the main kitchen and plating of meals
  • Preparing salads and sandwiches in the main kitchen
  • Function set up and clear down
  • Assist the Chef and Chef Manager as required in preparation of food/beverages
  • Food, coffee and tea service
