Weekend Chef, Aged Care

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 1,300 personnel across various operations in our active market.
 

About the role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Weekend Chef to join the kitchen team at our client's aged care facility in Narangba, QLD.

This is a Perm Part time role:
Saturdays: 0900 - 1730
Sundays: 0900 - 1730

*This role has a start date of late February, with the opening of this facility on 8th March 2021*
 

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ year's experience in a similar role - aged care cooking experience highly regarded.
  • Expertise in preparing home style meals for elderly residents
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines
  • The ability to function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
  • Excellent client liaison and customer service skills.
  • Must have own reliable transport.
     

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to produce high quality meals in line with aged care food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures including low and high care residents.
  • Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
  • Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Empathy towards residents, staff and clients.
  • High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
  • Support the chef manager as required
