Laboratory Technician - Bovine IVF

The Opportunity

Our client provides access to advanced reproductive services to Australian dairy and beef producers from their specialised facility in Gooloogong in Central West NSW.


The Bovine IVF Laboratory Technician is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated person to play a key role in an exciting new joint venture, and to be involved in a greenfield laboratory operation offering cutting edge bovine reproductive technology. This is a full-time role that will receive training in the latest laboratory and embryo maturation techniques and the opportunity to work directly with clients and their animals to enhance reproductive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform and act on the different controls during the oocyte collections, processing, embryo production, loading and freezing, and correct/report any deviation to the lab manager.
  • Maintain the workflow, manage the tasks and take care of the glassware, equipment and tools linked to the role.
  • Complete the required documentation for each process
  • Effective collaboration with the rest of the lab team.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Relevant qualification would be an advantage; previous laboratory experience is required
  • Quality driven person with a sound understanding of GLP or GMP protocols and their importance
  • Rigorous, methodical, organized and autonomous work habits
  • Good knowledge of biological laboratory techniques and processes
  • Continual improvement and will to learn attitude.
  • Excellent team-work skills and collaborative and results driven personality
