Diesel Fitter - Heavy Equipment

Golding is a successful mining, urban and civil infrastructure project management services business with projects and operations across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Golding is currently seeking site-based Diesel Fitters to work as part of the project maintenance team at Boggabri Mine. This is a residential role based in Boggabri regional NSW, 1.5 hours west of Tamworth. We will offer suitable candidates’ permanent full-time employment

Our 5 year maintenance contract was awarded in Dec 2017 to deliver equipment maintenance at Boggabri open-cut coal mine for our client Idemitsu. Operating ultra-class fleets equipment including Liebherr R9800 excavators and Komatsu 930E haul trucks, the mine produces up to 7 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of saleable coal with a mine life to 2033.

Key Role Tasks: 

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the role is responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance across all heavy earthmoving equipment on site.  

  • Trouble shooting and diagnosis of equipment faults
  • Disassembly and assembly of machinery and components
  • Routine servicing of all equipment both site workshop and field based
  • Complete all maintenance administration requirements in a timely and legible manner
  • Actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings
  • Participate in hazard identification, risk assessment and JHAs (Job Hazard Analysis) and SWP’s (Safe Work Procedures) where necessary for specific work areas.

Role Requirements

  • Trade qualification (Australian recognised)
  • Extensive maintenance experience with ultra-class electric drive haul trucks, 600T excavators or other ancillary machinery
  • Capacity to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attitude towards safety and commitment to zero-harm
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic
  • Current drivers’ license
  • Working at Heights Certification and High-Risk tickets (Dogging/Rigging) (advantageous)
